On the Security of CAMELLIA against the Square Attack
نویسندگان
چکیده
Camellia is a 128 bit block cipher proposed by NTT and Mitsubishi. We discuss the security of Camellia against the square attack. We find a 4 round distinguisher and construct a basic square attack. We can attack 5 round Camellia by guessing one byte subkey and using 2 chosen plaintexts. Cosidering the key schdule, we may extend this attack up to 9 round Camellia including the first FL/FL−1 function layer.

Analysis and Improving the Security of the Scalar Costa Scheme against Known Message Attack
Unintentional attacks on watermarking schemes lead to degrade the watermarking channel, while intentional attacks try to access the watermarking channel. Therefore, watermarking schemes should be robust and secure against unintentional and intentional attacks respectively. Usual security attack on watermarking schemes is the Known Message Attack (KMA). Most popular watermarking scheme with stru...
متن کاملA note on the security of two improved RFID protocols
Recently, Baghery et al. [1, 2] presented some attacks on two RFID protocols, namely Yoon and Jung et al. protocols, and proposed the improved version of them. However, in this note, we show that the improved version of the Jung et al. protocol suffers from desynchronization attack and the improved version of the Yoon's protocol suffers from secret disclosure attack. The succe...
متن کاملImproved Upper Bounds of Differential and Linear Characteristic Probability for Camellia
We discuss the security of the block cipher Camellia against differential attack and linear attack. The security of Camellia against these attacks has been evaluated by upper bounds of maximum differential characteristic probability (MDCP) and maximum linear characteristic probability (MLCP) calculated by the least numbers of active S-boxes which are found by a search method[2]. However, we fou...
متن کاملHMAC-Based Authentication Protocol: Attacks and Improvements
As a response to a growing interest in RFID systems such as Internet of Things technology along with satisfying the security of these networks, proposing secure authentication protocols are indispensable part of the system design. Hence, authentication protocols to increase security and privacy in RFID applications have gained much attention in the literature. In this study, security and privac...
متن کاملImpossible Differential Cryptanalysis of ARIA and Camellia
This paper studies the security of the block ciphers ARIA and Camellia against impossible differential cryptanalysis. Our work improves the best impossible differential cryptanalysis of ARIA and Camellia known so far. The designers of ARIA expected no impossible differentials exist for 4-round ARIA. However, we found some nontrivial 4-round impossible differentials, which may lead to a possible...
